New Year, New I.D.E.A.S.

Looking Ahead to 2023
We are often filled with hope and curiosity as the New Year approaches. We look ahead and ask: How will the next 365 days take shape? What new opportunities lie ahead? What adventures await us in 2023?
One adventure I look forward to: Continuing to serve as your APNA President and exploring my presidential theme, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses: Novel IDEAS (Inclusion. Diversity. Equity. Access. De-stigmatization.) Moving Whole Health Forward. These concepts are timely, important, and relevant to psychiatric-mental health nurses and all we serve. And this theme suggests more questions we can ask ourselves and our colleagues as we start a new year: How can we take a novel approach to our work? In what new ways can we provide care and hope? I know you, my fellow members, are more than capable of doing just that!
Our work is so valuable – and vital – to the health of our communities. There are many opportunities for growth ahead for us as PMH nurses. I can’t wait to discover what we accomplish in the New Year to move whole health forward.
Thank you for all you do and your impact on health care, your colleagues, your patients, and so many more. May you and yours have a safe and wonderful season and a new year full of opportunities and adventure!
